Several primary care facilities in the provinces of Antique and Cebu were renovated with the support of BDO Foundation, following recommendations from BDO and BDO Network Bank branches. This initiative is part of the foundation’s long-running program aimed at empowering public health workers and local government units to deliver quality healthcare in facilities that foster healing and wellness.

“BDO Foundation is deeply committed to this mission because we recognize the critical role of basic healthcare in every community,” said BDO Foundation President Mario Deriquito.

Primary care centers serve as the first point of contact in healthcare delivery. These facilities offer vaccinations for children, regular check-ups, and essential preventive care services that promote the health and well-being of the community.

BDO Foundation’s rural health unit rehabilitation program is actively supported by BDO and BDO Network Bank branches. Branch officers, going beyond their usual responsibilities, recommend health centers within their communities that are in need of support. “Many of our branch employees grew up visiting these health centers, so they’re passionate about giving back and supporting their hometowns,” Deriquito added.

Improved Healthcare Facilities in Antique

BDO Foundation recently completed the rehabilitation of four primary care facilities in Antique province:

  • Belison Primary Care Facility
  • San Jose de Buenavista Primary Care Facility
  • Sibalom Primary Care Facility
  • Tobias Fornier Primary Care Facility

Renovations included upgrades to layout, interiors, and exteriors. Specific enhancements were added based on each facility’s needs—for instance, Tobias Fornier PCF now includes a dedicated space for senior citizens, while Belison PCF features a private breastfeeding area for nursing mothers.

Expanding Healthcare Access in Cebu

In Cebu, the Daanbantayan Primary Care Facility is the most recent rehabilitation project completed by BDO Foundation—the seventh such facility in the province. It now serves over 33,000 residents across seven barangays and nearby areas.

Upgrades to the two-story facility include a private breastfeeding room, a play area for children, and dedicated space for the elderly.

Before this project, the foundation also turned over the Tuburan Rural Health Unit-I, which caters to over 68,000 residents in 54 barangays. This milestone reflects BDO Foundation’s unwavering commitment to making primary healthcare more accessible across the country.

Turnover and inauguration ceremonies of the Daanbantayan Primary Care Facility underscore the foundation’s mission to create patient-centered environments that promote wellness and dignity in healthcare.

Looking ahead, BDO Foundation is determined to continue strengthening grassroots health delivery by rehabilitating even more facilities nationwide.
