Recession-proof careers have sprouted and some of them are even jobs that can help make you a millionaire. So for today, careers with a bright future are the ones we will be discussing in this article.

Listed below are the top emerging and most in-demand jobs in the Philippines this 2024 that are booming amidst the COVID-19 pandemic:

13 Most In demand Jobs in the Philippines 2024

1. Podcast editor

This year is perhaps the year of influencers. Although podcasts have been around for many years before, most were pushed to enter this gig because people need to be motivated, especially in trying times like this. But as podcasts people rise, so do their editors.

When I was invited to be a guest speaker for a podcast on the Calamansi. ph app, I was struck with this line: The future is TALK. This meant people, at some point, would experience anxiety from frequently watching videos and instead, would turn to storytellers through podcasts. But the question is, can you earn as much when podcast editing can be done part-time? It is a definite win.

2. Virtual Assistant

Pandemic or not, virtual assistants have been in-demand especially for business people looking for individuals who can do their daily tasks for them. And during the entry of COVID into the world, many have chosen to open online businesses in order to sustain the damages of the falling economy.

That being said, there have been and still are many outlets where virtual assistants can work. From social media management to digital marketing, virtual assistants are the go-to people of businesses.

3. Content Creator

In conjunction with the previous point, it is imperative that businesses continue to deliver helpful content to people through blog posts or other relevant content. Although virtual assistants are more of the frontline management, content creators are the backbone of the brand.

With the rise of e-commerce, the hiring of content creators has also become in demand. They are the ones that write effective and engaging copies, generate tasteful ads whether from brand marketing or brand engagement, and are overall the reason why people reach out to your business.

4. Financial Planner and Financial Advisors

The transformation of advisory services from in-person to digital was drastic but well-needed. But hey, they pulled it off in a span of a few months. This is exactly the reason why they were able to remain booming even while being in a global pandemic.

Nowadays, more and more people are interested in knowing how to draft their own financial plan that is tailored fit to their income capacity and unique financial goals. Hence, the need for financial planners has arisen. In a separate post, I shared a comprehensive review of how I learned about financial planning in the Philippines with the help of rfp.ph.

With the increasing number of people knowing the importance of insurance, financial advisors have sprouted too as there is really a demand for insurance in the market. Plus, the limitless commissions and enticing travel perks can really make this a lucrative career for you.

5. Life Coach

As the saying goes “life goes on”, whether or not there is a global pandemic ravaging people’s lives, life must continue. People must progress, be it in their careers, relationships, lifestyles to name a few.

Life coaches are still a big thing this year and will always be. They are the ones that guide their clients on the path to a better life… a better life amidst COVID, most especially.

6. Software app developer

The pinnacle of work-from-home jobs is those that involve computers. One would imagine that these include those with degrees in Information Technology or Computer Science. That is correct.

Software app developers are those that invest their lives in creating applications or softwares that are ideally designed for people’s consumption. And new apps are getting developed every day. So the demand for such jobs is high and will remain so in the years to come.

7. Delivery Driver

In a time when no one wants to be exposed outside and risk viral transmission, it is the duty of delivery drivers to fulfill your transactions for you. The criteria can span from delivery of parcels, food, etc.

Whatever you want at your doorstep, they got you covered. They earn a decent amount as well, respectably. You can apply as a part-timer or as a full-time rider. Of course the more deliveries you make in one day, the higher pay you can receive. Some full-time delivery drivers can earn as much as Php 30,000 a month plus other incentives.

Here’s where you can apply as a delivery driver in the Philippines:

8. Logistic and Warehousing

Delivery drivers are not the only key players in e-commerce like Amazon, logistic and warehouse personnel are too. They are the ones that keep the items safe and sound until you finally give in to the urge to shop online. According to a study about the growth and trends of the Philippines Freight and Logistics Market, it is expected to grow at a CAGR of around 8.2%.

Thanks to new online technologies and surging E-commerce operations, logistics has gained popularity in the Philippines, especially with domestic shipping companies in the country.

 9. Information Security Analyst

Another one of those in-demand professions where IT and ComSci grads will benefit from the most. With the data and private information of companies prone to hackers and malware, it is their sworn duty to protect companies from such attacks and maintain the integrity of the enterprise.

This job is very important as e-commerce is booming in the post-COVID era. Plus they are paid generously.

10. Grocery Store Retail Worker

These people are one of the frontliners and deserve as much respect as doctors and researchers against COVID. They work despite the impending danger of viral transmission. With the resumption of previous lifestyles and more mobility allowed, retail stores are bound to open, making this position a viable one to be on the list.

11. Food and Beverage Service Workers

Similar to the previous one, these workers are also frontliners. Risking their lives to serve you with good food, for your family to enjoy. No matter the era, condition, and setting the world is in, you will always want some good food served to you.

12. Real Estate Agent

It would seem counterintuitive to have real estate agents up on the list, but data shows an increase of demand for such professions in the post-COVID season.

Of course, it would be ideal to have your own fortress, instead of renting somewhere when there is no assurance of how this COVID might end up. Perhaps the reason for the demand for brokers to get the job done.

13. Online Teacher

No face-to-face classes? No problem, because online teachers have got you covered. Most of them are freelancers online, nevertheless, they can get the job done and teach your kids what schools are supposed to teach them, if not for the virus.

Learning is a never-ending pursuit, as the saying goes. Therefore, no virus should stop children and even adults from their pursuit of knowledge and relevant information.

For the more perceptive crowd, you will notice that most of the jobs listed are those that can operate online. Unfortunately, the world is changing, and so must how we approach life itself.

The golden age of technology is now. And if you wish to survive in this fast-paced environment, you must be willing to delve into tech and be informed.

  1. Woah thank you for this, I actually came here for some inspiration on answering my modules and I got what I needed, cool website btw :DD

  2. Interesting. I would’ve thought that online jobs would be more in demand, especially with this administration having locked physical working to almost nothing the last 2 years. I think people were trying to get out of the cities and into the provinces to work from home, but I’m not really certain of that after reading this.
